Facebook has 2.9 billion users. Just over 30 million are dead. By 2065, dead users will outnumber the living, rendering the site a digital graveyard. In this lecture performance, artist Chris Dupuis scrolls through Facebook, looking at profiles of friends who have passed away and discussing how they died. Touching on mental health, addiction, HIV/AIDS, gender identity, and anti-gay violence, "Dead People Are Liking Things On Facebook" asks what meaning can be taken from our online afterlives. Do we remember people as they actually were or as they wanted to be?
