A work in progress show where you can see new jokes in their infancy as she refines the next chapter of her stand-up.
Loose, lively and full of surprises.
Irish comedy legend Deirdre O’Kane needs little introduction — a brilliant stand-up comedian, award-winning actor and TV personality whose razor-sharp wit and warmth have made her a household name. Originally from Drogheda, she began her comedy career in the mid-1990s, reaching the finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards, and soon became a fixture on stages from Dublin to Edinburgh and audiences around the world.
Over the years, Deirdre’s talent has spanned theatre, film and television. She has starred in acclaimed films such as Noble and Intermission, taken memorable roles in series like Moone Boy and voiced beloved programmes such as Gogglebox Ireland — while never losing her stand-up roots.
This is a rare chance to catch Deirdre truly “in the raw” — performing brand-new material in infancy, experimenting, refining and play-testing jokes before they evolve into full shows. The vibe will be loose, lively and full of surprises. If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the curtain of a comedy act before the polish — this is it.
