You have to write with guts about the potholes you walk round and the manholes you step upon, the screams and cries that you encounter, the guff that aims to nail you and the bits of light amongst the drab white concrete. Jinx Lennon does this and more for the Irish borderlands.

Inspired by unhinged gospel preachers from the movie 'The Apostle', mind numbing factory workweeks, smug government scheme overseer faces and excruciating embarrassment of being a guilt ridden catholic survivor - join Jinx through the cracked lens of punk, noise, north east borderland raps, confused taped voices and neanderthal garage rock and you will hear the stories unfold, some which are still being formed as we speak.

WASPS vs HUMANS

This autumn, Wasps vs Humans release their second album, 'The Day Homo Sapiens Destroyed the Earth'

Recorded between Dublin and Cork, the album is the culmination of two years of gigging, capturing the raw energy of their live show in a harder, grittier yet more melodic sound. Heavy guitar riffs and thundering beats collide with harmonies, folk influences, whistles and bodhrán — though there’s not a trad song in sight.

WvHs are an anarchic mix of drums, bodhrán, whistles, punk poetry, songs and beats. A sonic assault, their brand of electronic punk-folk energy tackles disappointment, inner-city crime, a fame-obsessed culture and social decay with a huge dollop of desperation, balanced by equal measures of anger and wit, creating a darkly humorous soundtrack to modern life.
