Cork Operatic Society (COPS) is once again set to captivate audiences with their Annual Opera Concerts, bringing the magic of opera to venues across Cork. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, COPS continues to thrive as a passionate community of singers dedicated to making opera accessible, engaging, and joyous for all.
Under the expert musical direction of Dr Mary G. O’Brien, COPS will enchant audiences with some of opera’s most recognisable and beloved pieces, including the lively Chorus of Cigarette Girls from Carmen, the rousing Brindisi from La Traviata, and the powerful Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore. Company Artist Gráinne Stafford will enthral with her performance of Habanera from Carmen. These performances promise to deliver the drama, emotion, and sheer joy of opera in a way that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
We are delighted to be joined by Soprano Orlaith Horan and Tenor Peter Thomas O'Reilly.
