Grainstore audiences adore Seán Keane! His annual summer concert, of which this will be his seventh, always sells out so he will return on Friday 18 July 2025. He'll be joined on stage by guitarists Fergus Feely and Shane McGowan.
Possessor of one of Ireland’s most distinctive voices, Seán grew to musical maturity in an atmosphere where nothing is more important than playing a tune well and singing a song as it should be sung. Although heavily influenced by traditional styles and values, Seán cannot be categorised simply as a traditional singer. Whether the songs are traditional, folk, country or blues, he applies a unique voice and unforgettable individual style.
Seán’s songs such as “Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears”, “Galway to Graceland” and “Home Away from Home” are enduringly popular, as is his more recent material like “Paint Me a Picture of Ireland”, “Nature’s Little Symphony”, and “One More Hour”. He released his 11th solo album, Gratitude, accompanied by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in 2018.
During lockdown he delighted audiences all over the world with his weekly Facebook live performances known as the Carragh Sunday Sessions. He tours regularly with his band in Ireland, Austria, Germany, the U.S. and Canada as well as appearing at major festivals worldwide.
“Seán Keane is a touchstone of great singing tradition. He is the past, the present and the future.” – the late Shay Healy, songwriter, broadcaster, and journalist
